Is it possible to customise the alerts to change the text you get?
For example I have overrided the Pool Member Availability monitor and generate alerts based on this.. but the alert is blank..
Ideally I want to add the data from either or
IE, get an alert stating that 192.168.0.1:80 Pool Member has been marked down by a monitor.

I believe you need to dig into syslog-ng. (Click here) to see what Ask.f5 comes up with regarding syslog-ng
I hope this helps
CB - Julian_Balog_34Historic F5 AccountHi David,
There is a possible way to customize alert messages for public monitors, such as our LTM Pool Member aggregate monitor (F5.LTM.PoolMember.Monitor.AggregateMonitor), but this is not a very straightforward process, especially for a sealed management pack, like ours. It would require some XML authoring skills and a bit of a SQL query knowledge. I will try to scope the steps out for you, and this will probably make it into a blog entry, which I will try to post in the next 24 hours, as the span of this forum would probably be limited for such an article.
I will get back to you here and link the blog post, for you to follow. Bear with me a few more hours and I will try to get the answer for you.
Thanks for your patience and for your interest in our management pack.
Julian - Julian_Balog_34Historic F5 AccountDavid,
Click here for the blog post describing the possibility to override alert messages. I hope you'll find it useful. It'll give you the "how-to", but it may not go very deep into explaining the "why" behind the design and implementation, but feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Also, any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that later today and let you know, Im not on R2 yet but I dont see that presenting any real issues.
David - Julian_Balog_34Historic F5 AccountYes, it should work fine on SP1 as well. Just let us know if you run into any problems...
