Jun 23, 2013What if for some weird reason 2.2.2.2 initiates a connection to virtual server 1.1.1.1. Will the virtual server just drop the packet, or will it forward the packet back to 2.2.2.2 since it is the pool that the virtual server is configured to load balance to?
if virtual server 1.1.1.1 is enabled on internal vlan (i.e. 2.2.2.2 vlan), connection will be accepted and processed (i.e. send to 2.2.2.2). anyway, since client and pool member are in the same subnet, snat may have to be used to prevent asymmetric network path (e.g. client --(request)--> virutal server --(request)--> pool member --(response)--> client).
