BIG-IP i5800 doesn't turn on automatically after power loss
Hey there
We have two i5800 appliances in cluster and i found that after rebooting the machines or if they suddenly loses power then after the power comes back they don't turn back on automatically . In order to turn them on i have to go to the appliance and turn them on manually from the touch panel . My question is if this is the expected behavior of the machines and there is nothing i can do or is it configurable ?
Thank you

Normally the device will automatically boot the system if you power on. In this case does not matter if you power off in the power supplies power button, or the power when off and on.
Do you get any message in the LCD saying "power standby mode" or something else?
I have done this in other models, and I would be surprised if is different in the iSeries.

After connecting the i500 SERIES to a power source
"Host Powered Off -touch anywhere to begin- appears on the touch panel.
After touching the panel you need to choose : System > Power On > Confirm.
Is it normal behavior of the system or can be changed ?

We had similar issue: Our F5 i5800 in our Data Centre suddenly entered in “Host Powered Off” mode, with the Alarm LED on red and the Status LED on Amber. The power status was green on both power supply units
We tried to power cycle, changed the back power cords, and tried also to reboot and power on the host through the LCD screen with no joy.
A ticket was opened with F5 to troubleshoot this together, and on a very early stage they decided to RMA the F5 as they said it looks like a Hardware failure.
Luckily I took an archive of the Host and guest and saved it locally, so I believe I can restore that onto the new F5 box they will send to us

Hi a.basharat,
Based on your statement "A ticket was opened with F5 to troubleshoot this together, and on a very early stage they decided to RMA the F5 as they said it looks like a Hardware failure." After this, does the Power On issue after power loss was resolved to the new F5 box? Thank you

Yes all went fine with the new RMA box. Just one more suggestion to add, when you power down the Host [i5800], make sure all the guest running on it are on Configured Mode, otherwise they might get damaged
