Dec 12, 2007ASM Performance Overhead
I've been trying to find something in the app notes, but been unsuccessful so far. Does anyone know what sort of performance overhead ASM adds? I assume it must take some measurable amount of time to do all that packet inspection.
Thanks!

It's impossible to say, exactly, how much of a performance difference you'll see though, as that will depend on many factors. How much traffic will you be passing? What type of traffic is it? How big is the average packet? How many VIPs/pools will you be running? Etc. etc.
The only way to get a good feel for what kind of increase in utilization you'll see is to give it a try in test/dev.

Colin,
The customer has LTM 6800, hw compression card, max SSL license, Cache license and enable ASM module.
LTM 6800 performance values; Max System throughput 4 Gbps and 20000 SSL TPS and 2Gbps compression and 2Gbps ASM throughput
if i enable all feature sametime and if i receive high client traffic,
how does change performance values,
Regards
zafer
