active-active F5 BIG-IP 2000 Clarification
In active-active BIG IP 2000 configuration, i am unable to configure the same Virtual Server to both Traffic Groups( Traffic group-1 and Traffic Group-2 are pointing to same application) . do F5 BIGIP 2000 support this ? Since from few documents from F5 says that active-active is used to support different application . how do we support the same Application Traffic?
our actual requirement is, we have Application running on two Solaris servers, and we need active-active LB configuration to route traffic evenly to both servers from both LBs, using single VIP.

You can't load share traffic between traffic groups. Traffic groups are homogenous each other, so even if you have two VIPs which point to the same application it's not possible.

What do you mean with load sharing between multiple VIPs ?
- Tilden_138221NimbostratusSay I have Two Traffic Groups which points to the same application. each TG has one VIP. so now i have Two VIPs, so can i load share between the two VIPs?

You can't have an active/active like you want.
Active/Active is just when you have multiple traffic groups. For example BIG-IP_1 will be active for tG1 and BIG-IP_2 for TG2.
As you saw, it's not possible to define the same VIP on multiple traffic groups. Each virtual server is unique and can be used more than once.
- Tilden_138221NimbostratusThanks Thomas Gobet.. it was much helpful. so in our case active-active is not usable. since we have the only one application, so we will not be able to create another VIP-2, And one more thing. whether F5 BIG IP 2000 supports load sharing between multiple VIPs, ??
