Action on monitor down
Hi,
we are loadbalancing Exchange using the Exchang_2010 iAPP. Within the iAPP we decided to use the advanced monitors. So we have the following configuration:
- monitor 1: checking mailbox test1(at)company.com
- monitor 2: checking mailbox test2(at)company.com
- both monitors are attached to a pool, availability requirement "at least 1"
Today we had the case, that one of the accounts was deactivated. In the following, one of the monitors failed, but the pool stayed active. Fine, so far.
The problem is, that we did not realize that the the monitor was going down. There wasn't any logging or notification because the pool stayed up.
How can I configure some kind of alert or notification when one of the monitors is going inactive?
Thanks in advance
Thorsten

You need to setup snmp traps for this. and display snmp walk if you are using any monitoring system. Use this article for setting up alerts and notifications. http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/3000/600/sol3667.html
