I have a couple of questions about upgrading from 14.x to 16.x. I know that you can do a direct upgrade but do you need to re-license or will the existing license work?
In general license files need to reactivated, except for those purchased via a public cloud marketplace (Pay-as-you-go). The reactivation validates entitlement to new software and updates the service check date in the license which is compared to the software version release date.
