I have a couple of questions about upgrading from 14.x to 16.x. I know that you can do a direct upgrade but do you need to re-license or will the existing license work?
EmployeeIn general license files need to reactivated, except for those purchased via a public cloud marketplace (Pay-as-you-go). The reactivation validates entitlement to new software and updates the service check date in the license which is compared to the software version release date. Its also important to note that under the Version Plus license scheme, which software ranges are permitted for the particular license SKU you have. More detailed information is at the following links:
