Lync 2010 Edge - dual data centre - Federation route resiliency via GTM

Hi,

We have 2 Edge servers deployed each in 2 data centres (4 servers). Currently introducing LTM's to both data centre's.

I want to know if we can use GTM to manage data centre fail over on the Public side for the Federation route?

Like this: Federation SRV record points to GTM, GTM points to LTM in Primary data centre, GTM only allows fail over to Backup data centre Edge pool (LTM) if no services available in 1st data centre pool.

Benefit is that we don't have to manage Public SRV DNS updates to fail over to the secondary DC Edge pool and only have to manage a manual Lync Topology update internally.

Would allow managed, planned failovers.

I thought I had seen documentation on this previously but now only see site resiliency solution, which is another beast altogether.

I would imagine even more need for a DR solution for the Federation route for company's that don't have Lync site resiliency solution, but do have DR data centre solutions?
