what is the difference between connections, sessions and request in the statistics of a node, these statistics are shown with the command

tmsh show ltm node

 Bits In              -

 Bits Out

 Packets In         -

 Packets Out

 Current Connections        -

 Maximum Connections       -

 Total Connections        -

 Total Requests        -

 Current Sessions

for example in the following article it says that a session can comprise several TCP connections for example an HTTP or SSL session

But it is not clear to me how F5 determines in a node which is a layer 7 session. If that session could go to another server since probably at the application level they handle session persistence
