The BIG-IP 12.x software branch uses the runsv utility to monitor specific daemons. The runsv utility monitors specific daemons and will restart the daemon in the event of a system failure.
I couldnt find any related information for 13.x. In general we just have to decide if we have to monitor specific deamons ourselves or not. If this is "built-in" even better.
