Communication between virtual servers on the same LTM device

Hi,

 

I have an iRule using the "node" command to send some traffic. When the destination is another virtual server on the same BIG-IP device, the connection fails. Is VS-to-VS connectivity possible on the same BIG-IP device without using the "virtual" command? If not, is it possible to test a VIP to see if it is a VS before sending traffic to it?

    Hello krisdames

     

    It's possible to create one node with the same IP of an existing VS, but the communication between them is not allowed by default.

     

    The only way to configure VIP-targeting-VIP in the same box is using

     

    1. an iRule with the 'virtual' command
    2. a Policy (which is equivalent to use the 'virtual' command)
