Can RESOLV::lookup be used to point a VIP?

Hello,

 

 

If i do not have a DNS entry on the DNS Server for a particular website. Is it possible to use the F5 for the name resolution? Like using RESOLV::lookup..

 

If a URL is typed in the web browser and it gets resolved in the F5 and points to the respective VIP.

    That iRule command allows the F5 to act as a DNS client so it wouldn't be useful here. The question is how you will direct the traffic to the F5 in the first place?

    yes if you are able to send traffic to virtual server. you can use "RESOLV::lookup" to query http host header name and use "node" command to send traffic to server on-the-fly.
