BIG-IP CGNAT implementation with Linux KVM as hypervisor

Hello devs!

This one is A BEAST! Grab a coffee. =D

We are going to deploy a CGNAT solution with DELL servers for a client and the BIG-IP VE is going to be hosted by a Linux KVM (Centos v7).

Client expects 40G throughput on this VE. We have some special licenses for it and we are going to run SR-IOV. At least that is what we think we need to get to 40G.

This specific DELL server has 4x10G interfaces. We first thought that we could run LACP on the KVM Host and in this manner protect the BIG-IP VE interfaces but since we need SR-IOV this is not possible (I think).

The only F5 documentation I could find is the "BIG-IP Virtual Edition 13.1.0 and Linux KVM: Setup" guide. The thing is that this manual do not cover KVM deployment and neither the SR-IOV configuration.

So my question is: Does anybody have already deployed BIG-IP inside a Linux KVM host with SR-IOV? How did you configure the networking interfaces on the KVM and on the BIG-IP?

Any tips you could share?

Thanks! Rafael
