Any information regarding the memory leak found in 14.1.2.4?

Hi all!

I woke up and had an urgent email from F5 for breakfast.

"F5 discovered a memory leak and crash bug related to layer 2 (L2) multicast in BIG-IP version 14.1.2.4. Consequently, F5 removed BIG-IP 14.1.2.4 from F5 Downloads"

The thing is, I have upgraded a platform to that version on friday. To date, there are no symptoms, but rolling back and upgrading to .3 is quite convoluted, moreso in these times. Does anyone have any information regarding this issue, so that we can see if it applies in our scenario or not?

Thanks!

You are receiving this email because our records show that you downloaded BIG-IP 14.1.2.4 from F5 Downloads (https://downloads.f5.com).

F5 discovered a memory leak and crash bug related to layer 2 (L2) multicast in BIG-IP version 14.1.2.4. Consequently, F5 removed BIG-IP 14.1.2.4 from F5 Downloads.

Rest assured that F5 is working tirelessly to release BIG-IP 14.1.2.5 with a fix for this issue as soon as possible.

    What you should do

If you have not yet installed BIG-IP 14.1.2.4, F5 asks that you do not install it.

If you installed BIG-IP 14.1.2.4, F5 recommends that you revert to the software you were running before you upgraded.

In the meantime, BIG-IP 14.1.2.3 is the most recent version of BIG-IP 14.x, and it is available for download at F5 Downloads.
