Live Coding with iRules - Heatmaps!
Earlier in the week I was researching some iRules things and I came across Colin Walker's famous iRules Heatmaps examples. Just for fun I loaded up the one he started with that was US based and as is, 12 years later, it worked just fine...huzzah to consistency across literally 5 major versions and a decade of development! As I was looking into the mapping, I discovered that the original charts he used, which do still work, are nevertheless deprecated, and have been for quite some time. As I looked at the potential alternatives, I though that going through a rewrite exercise would be fun, and thought I'd bring the community along for the ride by doing it live. The live audience was great, kept me on my toes, and even bailed me out a couple times along the way.
