You can use SNATs for outbound connections only?
Hello,
The Configuration Guide for BIG-IP Local Traffic Management (Version 10.0.0) says the following: << You can use SNATs for outbound connections only. >> Page 13-5
The guide later on gives an explanation on the following title: << Understanding SNATs for client-initiated (inbound) connections >> Page 14-2
Isn't that conflicting? Can someone help clarify this?
Thanks & Regards JVV

While somewhat misleading in this particular guide, you can actually have inbound and outbound SNATs. The 11.0.0 Local Traffic Manager Concepts guide does clear that up:
An inbound SNAT is the primary use case for SNAT and involves changing a client's true source address to an internally-managed IP, usually to force return routing.
An outbound SNAT is generally used when a server connects out and you want to change its internal non-routable address to an external routable address.
