What is the best recommendation of Database Load Balancing?
Hi
My customer asked to me more effective method of communication with WAS and DB....
Because.... If the DB was down, it is taken 3 min to reconnect to other DB... It is not effective.
So They want to construct F5 with between WAS and DB for load balancing and sensitive monitoring for DB.
But I have no experience to construct F5 for DB load balancing...
So I ask the way(The best recommended config) of configuration to construct DB Load balancing.
And Could you give some issue about config/operate DB LB?
Also, Plz give me some reference site using Load balancing Database...

Hi,
Can you give us more details about your DB solution (oracle, Mysql, ...).
As you know the traffic used for DB can be very conssomateur, in terms of bandwidth. So if you can leave your VS in L4 ( LTM can't natively parse SQL reads and writes to implement more advanced load balancing scenarios ), the traffic does not rise in the layers and it conssome less resource.
The most important is to set a a strong monitor (oracle, PostgresSQL, Mysql, depending your solutions).
Then if you need persistance, in this case you can use "src address" or "UIE persistence" depending of your VS.
Some customer use "Priority Group Activation" and let only one node manage traffic and if an problem occur the other member take over...
YOu have multiple article that talk about this topic:
