First, you need to understand the requirements. LTM is for load balancing, so clients will access the application via the LTM. APM is a layer 7 proxy, so customer will send the request to APM and APM will access the application.

 

Neither for APM or LTM there is a list of compatible applications. They may have technology requirements like APM requires HTTP applications, but those requirements are standards.

 

You need to understand if your requirement is for LTM or APM. In relation to your question, if it is easy, it will depend on how much knowledge of F5 you already have.
