Vlan-tagging in Workstation/Player

Anyone know if it's possible to get the virtual networking environment within VMware workstation or player to handle vlan tags, and if so, how? I know this can be done in esx/esxi with virtual guest ...

These assume vmware workstation will pass the vlan tags from the guest, do you know this to be the case? BTW, big fan of gns3, recommend it all the time.
