Virtual Server going to sleep?
Hi, Many times I cannot access a webapp using the Virtual Server.
When pinging the VS IP address and the get "Request timed out." for a while
And after a while, the VS starts responding to PING and then, I can access the webapp.
Why does it happen? why the VS stops responding and after a while it comes back alive?
Is the VS going to sleep if it's not in used for a while?
See the screenshot:

Hi,
Are you sure there is no duplicate IP?
a VS doesn't stop responding if there in no network issue.

Hi,
This is a tcp virtual server. It will. Ever handle icmp requests.
When you create a virtual server, it automatically create a
which manage arp and icmpvirtual address

when I ping from my station it does not answer to ping immediately, as seen in the above ping screenshot, but when pinging the VS from BIGIP cli, it answers immediately.
You also have to consider the path between the source PC and F5.
It is not always that you can blame F5 if the application is down.
Have you tried taking a capture at F5 during the issue ? Do you even see that ICMP or your application traffic is reaching the F5 ?

It seems to be a problem in one the router's ARP table size
Code connect: No buffer space available
When I increase the ARP table size, I am able to ping from that routing device
