Virtual IP to name resolution
Hi, Recently I added a pool and Virtual IP for one of our web url into BIG-IP version 12.1.2 Build 0.0.249 We are able to access the url using the IP address but not able to access using the name.
192.168.10.14 --> dev2.oitssystem.com
So when we do https://192.168.10.14 it works, but i want to have that work when we put the name. https://dev2.oitssystem.com
Any help is appreciated... Thanks!!

- What diagnostics have you performed?
- Is the entry in DNS? Can your client resolve it?
- Have you tested from a client using curl? What did curl say?
- Does your client have a proxy config that is sending the traffic a different way with name vs IP?
- Have you performed a tcpdump at either end of the connection?

From the client machine, if you can't resolve the domain (dev2.oitssystem.com) to the IP address, you have a problem at the DNS level that needs to be sorted and not the F5, especially since you can directly access the IP address and get the relevant data.

There is no magic in IT!
If the dns server don’t resolve the hostname, the client won’t know where it may send the request!
If the request doesn’t arrive on bigip, it can’t do anything!!!
