Valid numbers to use for priority groups
I have been trying to find somewhere which tells me the valid range of numbers that can be used when configuring priority groups within a pool. The only documentation I can find has min/max values for the "less than" activation setting (0 - 65535), but doesn't provide a similar range for the priority group numbers themselves. In the CBT "Getting Started with BIG-IP LTM: Part 1 - High Availability and Traffic Processing" on the F5 University it mentions the range as being from 0-10. However lots of examples I have seen use much higher numbers, and I know the LTM will allow you to configure higher numbers. Would anyone please be able to point me towards info on the F5 site etc. which gives a definitive answer?

I usually separate the priority groups in steps of 5 and never had to use more than 3-4 priority groups in a pool and the vast majority of them have been 2 priority groups. I am not sure about the upper limit. Are you intending to use many more priority groups ?
Hi Kingsley,
the valid range for Priority Groups is 0 - 4294967295 (aka. 0xFFFFFFFF)
Cheers, Kai
