Use SCOM to monitor scripts run by iApps

i have implemented the autmated backup as described in this article: https://devcentral.f5.com/articles/third-times-the-charm-big-ip-backups-simplified-with-icall

this works like a charm, and i have a mail sent to me after each time it runs, to state success or failure. what i want to know, is this: can i run SCOM to monitor whether the script has run or not, and send alerts based on this? this way, i would have a 24/7 monitoring of the script, and made sure someone will take action if the script doesnt run for some reason.
