Upgrading BIGIP 2000S to R2600
Hi,
I have a pair of BIGIP 2000 licensed with LTM and need to upgrade the hardware to R2600. I have some backend nodes pointing to F5 as their gateways. 2000 appliances run code v15.1. Will it be doable to archive CSF file of old F5s, edit some names related to 2000s like hostname and license with new names of 2600s, load the file on new F5s? I'm thinking to use different mgmt IP but keep all other configuration of VS, Vlans, IPs as they are.
Also, what about license and certificate files?
Thank you!
Migration from one plateform to other platform is bit complicated, Its require lot of home work. Below article will guide you to think and prepare well.

license surely you have to install it manually as f5 license is per hardware.
layer 1,2,3 config such as vlan and self/floating ip must be done manually too.option1: for upper layer config, you can try to create a new synconly device group in old hwm set new hw to join it, then push sync from old hw to new hw.
i'm not sure it will sync the config due to different hw type but you can try.option2: for manual method, you can copy output of "tmsh list ltm" of old hw then paste it into tmsh of new hw.
also do for gtm/asm module if you have it in old hw.
this wont copy the ssl key/cert so you have to configure it using same names before the first tmsh pasting above.
