Upgrade 10.2.3 to 10.2.4
Hello people
I will do an upgrade in a pair of 1600 BIG IP with LTM/GTM from 10.2.3 to 10.2.4.
In labs, i can see that when I install the new version it starts with no old configuiration, with this its necessary to make a backup of the configuration files.
The files that i had to do backup was:
/config/bigip_sys.conf
/config/bigip_base.conf
/config/bigip.conf.
/config/bigip_local.conf
/config/bigip/auth/pam.d/radius/system-auth.conf
/config/bigip/auth/pam.d/radius/system-auth
/config/gtm/wideip.conf
Is it only this files, or there is anothers?
anyelse recomendation ?
thanks a lot

The upgrade process should copy the existing configuration. Are you using partitions or volumes?
Regardless, if you want to do it manually, I'd recommend you create a UCS archive and restore that after the upgrade, once you've changed the hostname to whatever it should be. - Kleython_Kell_5

The actual 10.2.3 is on partitio 1:1
I will install the 10.2.4 on 1:2
But I had did test, installing on the same partition, and the existing configuration wasnt copied - What_Lies_Bene1

I didn't think you could install to the active partition. If you install to a different one it should be OK. If it's not, you can use the cpcfg command, as long as you install to a new partition. - What_Lies_Bene1

Or, as I suggested, create a UCS archive prior to the upgrade and apply it after. If you need help with that, just say. - Kleython_Kell_5

yes, i countd install on the active partition.
I boot from the other.
ex: boot on 1:2 and install on 1:1
but i did all test,, if I boot on 1:2 and install on 1:1 ( that have de current configuration ), after install, and boot, 1:1 cames on 10.2.4 but without configuration
I had to copy the files .conf e put b load and gtmload - What_Lies_Bene1

OK, well, you certainly can't in v11.x.
OK, so I would recommend you upgrade a different partition (not the active one) and the configuration should be copied across. This also gives you a backout should something not go to plan.
Either way, when you do production, you want to create those UCS archives and store them off device as a precaution too. - Kleython_Kell_5
