Uneven ping response to machines behind the F5 VE

Folks,

 

We have gone in with a Virtual F5 LTM edition for some testing but find that there is some uneven ping response to machines behind the box. The ping response varies between 5 ms to 180 ms at times. Has anyone encountered similar variations and if yes any known solution to this. The F5 instance resides on a vcenter.

    Does the same variation in response times exist between other points in your network and your backend servers? You should be able to test this from a router or other layer 3 device in your network. Are there other VMs within vCenter that you can test response times from? More than likely it's something to do with your network or ESX environment.
