Traffic Group Properties

I noticed that under Device Management >> Traffic Groups >> traffic-group-1 --- My Current Device is ADCDMZ-01 (self) but my Next Active Device is Initializing / Not Synced???

If I look at Device Management >> Overview both nodes are synced

I have the same setup in a development environment and the next active device is node-02

Thoughts?

Thanks

  • Hi, I was facing the same issue of the original post, I was trying to make an Active/Standby Cluster.

    The symptoms:

    1. The trust between nodes are OK and the Sync in the device_trust_group was ok.
    2. In Devices the Self Node was active and the other node Offline.
    3. Device Management >> Traffic Groups >> traffic-group-1 >> Initializing / Not Synced.
    4. Both devices are Active and in Sync.
    5. Network Failover is enabled on Device Group.
    6. OS version 12.1.2

    The solution:

The order you start configuring the cluster is crucial to success. This steps works for me:

    1. Configure a SELF IP in a VLAN for HA in each node, PortLockdown in Allow Default.
    2. In each device go to Device Management >> Devices >> Device (self), Device Connectivity >> Config Sync, select the SELF IP you add in the last step.
    3. In each device go to Device Management >> Devices >> Device (self), Device Connectivity >> Failover Network, select the SELF IP you add in the last step.
    4. In one device go to Device Management >> Device Trust, Peer List. Add the IP address of the other device.
    5. In the same device go to Device Management >> Overview. Test to sync this device to the other in the "device_trust_group". If this was a success continue.
    6. Create a Device Group, Sync-Failover, add the members, Set NetworkFailover and FullSync.
    7. Go back to Overview and Sync for the first time the Devicegroup you had created in the last step. When it's finish and success you will have one node in StandBy and the other in Active.

I follow this guide to create the cluster but only when I follow the steps I write the traffic-group was in Sync. https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/manuals/product/tmos-implementations-12-1-0/4.html

    Bye!
