I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier. Turns out it was user (me) error. I only put the floating IP address in the firewall. The problem is that the monitoring is being done by the internal IP and not the floating IP of the F5. Once I added the other two IP addresses for each unit, everything started working as expected.

Version 12 is very good but I'd only move to that if there is something I really need. Have a look to the software support policy: https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/5000/900/sol5903.html. As someone said before, 11.6 is about to reach EoSD
