Statistics for VIP with an iRule with multiple pools.

How are VIP statistics and status reported/collected when I have a VIP that has an iRule with multiple pools? (There is no default pool set on the VIP).

 

 

From what I am seeing, it shows up as green and shows traffic. I need to know what this is actually reporting. (IE. Will the VIP show as down, if one of the pools goes down? Are the statistics reported based on pool traffic or actual VIP traffic..)

    I'm specifically looking to find the method statistics are reported for iRule only VIPs on a BigIP LTM. (I made some assumptions about how this was done, and am starting to doubt them).
