Statistics for VIP with an iRule with multiple pools.

How are VIP statistics and status reported/collected when I have a VIP that has an iRule with multiple pools? (There is no default pool set on the VIP).     From what I am seeing, it shows up as...

I'm specifically looking to find the method statistics are reported for iRule only VIPs on a BigIP LTM. (I made some assumptions about how this was done, and am starting to doubt them).
