Aug 09, 2013What I meant was that if you're NOT re-encrypting to the server (not sending to port 443 pool members), then you don't need a server SSL profile. If you ARE sending to port 443 (SSL) pool members, then you DO need a server SSL profile. This profile is what allows the BIG-IP to establish an SSL session with the back end servers. You would generally see a performance increase if you DO NOT do SSL at all on the application servers - pure port 80 traffic.
