SNMP trap was not receiving at SNMP manager
Hi ,
we are using viprion 2400, i am unable to see interface transition state change SNMP trap in SNMP manager. i am able to see the below log in /var/log/ltm.
Oct 28 04:59:47 slot1/lb2 info bcm56xxd[7672]: 012c0015:6: Link: 1/1.14 is DOWN Oct 28 04:59:47 slot1/lb2 info lacpd[8315]: 01160016:6: Interface 1/1.14, link admin status: enabled, link status: down, duplex mode: half, lacp operation state: down Oct 28 04:59:47 slot1/lb2 info lacpd[8315]: 01160010:6: Link 1/1.14 removed from aggregation Oct 28 04:59:48 slot1/lb2 info bcm56xxd[7672]: 012c0015:6: Link: 1/1.14 is UP Oct 28 04:59:48 slot1/lb2 info bcm56xxd[7672]: 012c0015:6: Link: 1/1.14 is DOWN Oct 28 04:59:48 slot1/lb2 info bcm56xxd[7672]: 012c0015:6: Link: 1/1.14 is UP
interface is flapping with in a sec , and unable to see the same trap in snmp manager.
when i run logger command i am able to see the trap
logger -p local0.Info "012c0015:6: Link: 1/1.14 is DOWN"
wanted to know F5 will able to send traps if same event occurred and cleared with in a sec.? what is the possible reason for not receiving SNMP traps at SNMP manager?
thanks in advance.

It should send them. There was a bug sol14517: The BIG-IP system may not generate link status SNMP traps for interface transitions, which should be fixed in 11.5.3 according SOL. - Brad_Parker

I don't have an 11.5.3 box to look at, but check that /etc/alertd/alert.conf contains
BIGIP_PFMAND_PFMANDERR_LINKSTATUS- suresh_kumar_M_
Nimbostratus
yes, alert.conf contains the alert * from pfmand * external link status */ alert BIGIP_PFMAND_PFMANDERR_LINKSTATUS { snmptrap OID=".1.3.6.1.4.1.3375.2.4.0.37";
