Server Name Indication (SNI) question?

Q. is Server Name Indication (SNI) only usable for SSL-TLS/https websites, can it also be used for http websites? SNI, allows the publishing multiple websites using a single virtual IP address.

    KDS2014,

SNI is a TLS protocol implementation and is concerned with overcoming certificate issues with multiple hostnames on a single https VIP.

Multiple websites can be published on one http VIP as there's no certificate/hostname dependency.

    Hope this helps,
