SERVER FAILURE DURING UPDATE
I'm trying to create a new record but the record is not created and the "Server failure during update" message is shown.
The message in the Global Traffic log shows this: Fri Feb 14 10:37:10 CST 2014 err ns2 zrd[4737] 01150403 Server failure during update Fri Feb 14 10:37:11 CST 2014 notice ns2 zrd[4737] 01150216 Notice from named-checkconf: server reload successful Fri Feb 14 10:37:11 CST 2014 notice ns2 zrd[4737] 01150216 Notice from named-checkconf: db.external.multijuegos.com.mx.:19: ignoring out-of-zone data () Fri Feb 14 10:37:11 CST 2014 notice ns2 zrd[4737] 01150216 Notice from named-checkconf: db.external.sattora.com.mx.:14: ignoring out-of-zone data () Fri Feb 14 10:37:11 CST 2014 notice ns2 zrd[4737] 01150216 Notice from named-checkconf: db.external.sattora.com.mx.:15: ignoring out-of-zone data ()

So it looks like you are attempting to add a record via ZoneRunner. What kind of record are you creating, and what are you attempting to put in the record? If you could take a screenshot of what you are attempting to do prior to trying to apply the change, that would work best.

Hi Cory.
I have two GTMs (GTM1 & GTM2). When I create a register via Zone Runner in GTM1, the register is updated in GTM2 until I restart the named service in GTM2 and viceversa. It means that auto-sync is not functioning as I expected to be. I have configured the SYNC-ONLY type.
any ideas about it?

A sync-only group shouldn't be necessary to do these zone/GTM synchronizations. You can just use a GTM sync group to keep things simpler: http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/13000/700/sol13734.html

What version are you running? I think with some versions, there is a bug preventing zones from properly synchronizing between GTM sync group members. The workaround is to manually restart named. I'll see if I can dig up the bug description.

Yep. Install HF1 or HF2 and you'll be past this bug. - Rene_125948

Yes, I'm going to do that. I just need a maintenance window to proceed. Thank you very much for your help.

i had a similar error - it was because i copied the zone files to a new box using SCP and the file permissions for the zone file were owned by root - had to change the owner to named... hopefully this helps someone else out!
