First you need to get the bigip to send emails out, see Configuring the BIG-IP system to deliver locally-generated email messages.

Then when you've done this you can configure your specific alert to send emails. See Configuring alerts to send email notifications.

You can then test this is working using logger, see Testing SNMP traps on the BIG-IP system

This final solution also has the alert OID you're interested in: BIGIP_MCPD_MCPDERR_NODE_ADDRESS_MON_STATUS - this is if you want to be alerted for ALL nodes. If you want specific nodes then you will need to create your own OID in the user_alert.conf file and have it match a more specific log message.
