Random characters in portal app HTML

I have seen this a number of times, and have never been able to resolve it. In portal access applications once in a while I see random (hex) characters strewn throughout the page. For example, I added www.google.com as a portal app (I actually need this to work) and I get a random "8000 0" at the top of the page. These numbers are the same every time, in the same places on various pages/sites/servers.

I'm at a loss. Any ideas?

This one in particular is in the lab and is running newer software than our production appliances but same result.

  • You're encountering a defect with chunked transfer encoding handling with BIG-IP. Those characters are part of it. It is likely (or closely related to) this issue:

That worked! I figured it was something simple, thank you!
  • Are you using all default profiles for the VS? If you are, can you see if you use all the default profiles if you have better results?

I have seen some issues in the past where when using APM+LTM (not portal access mode) and SSOv2 (Forms-Client Initiated) that the chunk values from the response will show up in the HTML. Since you are not using APM+LTM I don't believe this is the same exact issue but you probably are seeing the chunk info displayed.
