ramcache and chunking

Hi,

I have a question regarding issues with the size of cached objects in the ramcache on a 3600 running 10.0.1 Build 354.0 Hotfix HF2 .

In very rare conditions, a pdf doesn't load properly or crashes the browser.

As I cannot reproduce this myself, I can only guess about the cause.

What I do know is that disabling ramcaching for that URL( exclude list in the profile and this is the only change from the boxed http-wan-optimised-compression-caching profile) , fixed the problem.

The document is a normal pdf-file that we use for printer testing.

When I used bigpipe to display that entry from the ramcache, it said size: 312721. A request with wget -S showed me a size of Length: 312,419 (305K) [application/pdf].

I received various different results via our helpdesk ranging from 'Firefox freeses completely' to an IE that popped up a msgbox stating 'Document doesn't start with %PDF'.

How does caching and chunking interact ?

Is it possible that these objects are stored as chunks in the ramcache with 302 bytes extra headers ?

IB
