port translation causing delays with a page being displayed back to the client.

I am setting up a web document viewing application(Snowbound) to run thru my LTM, I have the VS set up to listen on port 80 and the backend servers are using port 8047. it is taking an excessive amount of time for the page to return to the client, 10-15 seconds, however if I set the F5 to listen on port 8047 with the backend servers also on that port, the page is returned as expected, 1-3 seconds.
