Ping from External network to Internal Network without using VIP.
Hi,
I want ping from External network device to Internal network device , without using VIP. Is it possible, if yes how I can configure. I have bluecoat server in my Internal network of F5 and my PC is in external network. I am using VIP for bluecoat for load balance. Now my client request my external client can ping to internal Bluecoat device without using a VIP.
Kindly advice.

object listener (i.e. virtual server, snat, nat) is required to pass traffic from one vlan to another. if you do not want to use virtual server, you may use snat. anyway, why not virtual server?

If not a VIP, then a NAT is really the only other way. Otherwise you'd need to route around the BIG-IP.

Arun, note that a Virtual Server and VIP are not the same thing. You can define a Forwarding Virtual Server representing the whole internal network range you want to have reachable.
Of course, just like a router, the host you are pinging from (or its gateway) will need to have the BIG-IP's Self IP as its route for that internal network.
