NimbostratusPage cannot be displayed when hitting HTTPS VIP.
Hi All,
I have 3 web servers on which only http service is running. i want when we hit the vip, https page should open, instead of http. I tried by creating a new pool and vip of https but when i hit the VIP i get page can't be displayed. I tried with irules also on http pool by redirecting traffic to https. irule is working but i get page can't be displayed. do i need to enable https service as well on sever?

Hi. If you don't have HTTPS on your web servers, but want an HTTPS service on your LTM you will need to create an HTTP pool and use an HTTPS VIP with a client SSL profile (SSL certificate) This is known as SSL offloading - where F5 manages the encryption.
You can also have end to end encryption, using a client SSL certificate and a server side certificate. For this you will need to enable HTTPS on your webservers.

If you are running only http (port 80) on your servers you should do SSL offload on the https VIP.
For the VIP on port 80: use default http to https iRule
For the VIP on port 443: create a pool on port 80 and client SSL profile.
