npath troubleshooting
Here is some info to explain my current setup and what im expierencing
vlan 100 - 192.168.3.0/24
GW - 192.138.3.1
192.168.3.140/24 port 3241 (V)IP
192.168.3.5/24 f5 self ip
192.168.3.200/24 backend server
192.168.3.140/32 backend server loopback
client (printer) 192.168.1.25
i am seeing handshakes between the printer and f5, as well as the printer and backend server. i am seeing resets from the f5 to the printer.
The printer requires login to access the application im configuring for npath/dsr. normally, it fails with either it cannot reach server, or
the server terminated the connection during the first attempt, followed by a second login which then normally grants access to the application.
This is part of a dump on the f5

i also did another dump on the f5 and exported it so i could view within wireshark. Both the SYN/ACK and RST/ACK i confirmed was the f5 mac address for its source. i thought it might of somehow been the server traffic traveling back through the f5.
the capture on the server looks correct. i see the SYN, source IP of client, source mac address of f5, dest IP of loopback w/ mac address of server. then the SYN/ACK source IP of loopback, source mac of server, dest IP of client, mac address of gateway.
i cant figure out why i see the handshake at all between the client and f5 or why the resets are being sent from the f5 to the client. it does not appear to be coming from the server.
