May 16, 2007npath and HTTP_REQUEST
So according to the documentation HTTP_REQUEST isn't support in L4.. ok.. so how does one split off various traffic to various servers? my old rule set would look at the HTTP::uri and depending on what was in it would fork off to certian pools. some media servers, some image servers and php/backend servers. we get MUCH better throughput using regular npath however sending these 50MB-1GB files back through the F5 device take a performance hit the larger the file is... is there a way to split the requests up into my different pools?
The only other solution we have is to use a subdomain and replace the code on the servers for various content.. however IE6/7 do not want to pass authentication from subdomain to subdomain but every other browser works fine.. only MS due to their "anti-phising" patch has screwed everything up.
The other alternative is to get the Advanced Authentication module and just control all the auth via ldap from the F5 device.
Any ideas??? Thanks!
