New VE LTM nodes stuck in "unknown" state
Found few things on here regarding this but cant seem to figure out my specific problem. Recently added a ve to my device group. Trust is good, everything is in sync however LTM health checks never complete or fail. At node level i have tried disabling, enabling node specific and default. icmp never completes. Properties of node show clock spinning for icmp health monitor. i can successfully ping these nodes from the f5 cli. ideas?

Hi,
Is the health check failing on all devices in the Device Group, or just the new one?
Is there a firewall between F5 and backend servers? The health check is done form the self-IP of a device, so maybe the new device IP is not configured in that firewall rule base.
Did you check with tcpdump to see any traffic leaving the F5?

What is the VE running on?
The other F5 device also a VE, if so is it running on the same hypervisor?
Have to tried removing the default node monitor and adding the node to a pool with a spesific monitor e.g. tcp/http/https?

n00b mistake. I should of brought device out of "offline" state. didn't realize offline state wont permit health monitors.
