my f5 is showing sync recommended message (on both active and standby), but i havent done any changes to it.how to troubleshoot? how to see what changes have been made or what changed?

Hopefully you have auditing turned on and can check the audit logs. They are located at /var/log/audit or audit.1.gz, audit.2.gz, etc. Otherwise you can look at the dashboard (if you are running I think 11.4 or later) and change the time to month. The little red balls at the bottom with designate days with changes and what was changed.

thanks Steve! . unfortunately I am using 10.2.4 version - so still the audit logs can be useful. but personally i have seen this too often without a good cause. if you are sure nothing change just sync the units.

Agreed. Also there are some locations within the GUI that will generate a "change" even if you don't change anything. Especially in v10.2.x. These locations include the config menus for SNMP, Remote Logging, DNS, NTP, and I think there are more. Could have just been the version/hotfix I was on, but as soon as I entered one of those menus when I was running 10.2.2 it would pop to 'Changes Pending.'
