You're monitoring a proxy then.

I have a few of those. They're quite simple. For example the google monitor is just

ltm monitor http proxy-google.co.uk {
    defaults-from http
    destination *:*
    interval 20
    recv "Server: gws"
    recv-disable "The page cannot be displayed"
    send "GET http://www.google.co.uk/ HTTP/1.0\\r\\n\\r\\n"
    time-until-up 0
    timeout 61
}
