Management for Viprion

Hello all

We've a VIPRION C2400 with 2 blades,

the master of the blade cluster is blade2,

the management port of the 2 blades are connected to a switch and UP

when i remove - for a test - the cable from the management port of blade 2 the device is not more reachable on the cluster ip address

blade 1 remains accessible with its member indvidual ip

my question :

is this the normal way Viprion blade cluster is working ?

i was expecting a kind of intra-blade failover, blade 1 taking over the cluster ip ?

is this possible ?

Thank you

    Hello olivierf,

The failover between the two blades will be in case the primary is down , but in your situation , the primary still up and is handling traffic , only management access is down . So accessing the cluster management will always lead to the primary blade from which you've removed the cable.
