Lync & F5 ASM

Hello,

we plan to install microsoft Lync server in our infrastructure. We will place F5 LTM in front of the edge servers. We also have ASM on these devices. Is ASM capable to analyse traffic from-to Lync? Is it an added value as for classical http(s) applications?

Thanks for your help.

Adrien, there is an http component to Lync that ASM could definately provide protection to, however f5 has yet to test & create a Lync specific policy for ASM.

Since the BIG-IP will already be decrypting the HTTPs traffic, the device is in the right place for inspecting and protecting.
