LTM Monitor to force server status down and terminate all connections
LTM ver 10.2.3
I need to create a monitor that will look for a file on a server in the pool. The monitor will mark the server down and terminate all connections to the server. While this sounds pretty simple, so far I have not found any examples or a doc on how to complete this. I am still looking...
So basically when an application owner needs to do maintenance on a server, they will just copy this file to the server. We cannot allow these app owners access to the gui.
Any assistance here is greatly appreciated.

How do you want to check for the existence of the file? SMB? FTP? Here are a couple of examples of these two if you want to go this route:

You'd want to configure the 'Action on Service Down' on your pool to 'Reselect'.
Reselect: Specifies that the system manages established client connections by moving them to an alternative pool member when monitors mark the original pool member down.- Bill_113656

Thanks! I will try the ftp option you mention.
