Log Messages Disappeared

Hi, We were looking at the traffic logs, there was around 37 pages but suddenly all disappeared. We tried to search for them in the ltm1,2,3,4,5,6,7 files in the /var/log location but couldn't found ...

Sounds like the logs rollover ran while you were looking at the logs. Check the other gzip'ed log files. You should find your logs in there.

 

Other than that, the only real explanation is that someone flushed the ltm logfile by hand (e.g. an 'accidental' 'cat /dev/null > /var/log/ltm' or similar - maybe just rm'ed it (I think syslog-ng is set to autocreate the logsfiles isn't it?).
