Issues with F5 Networks MP 3.2.0.159 in SCOM 2012

We have the F5 MP 3.2.0.159 installed in our SCOM 2012 Environment but have had little success. Curious if others have this installed and are seeing the same issue below.

Environment:

Large distribution of SCOM

  • ~1500 agents
  • Dedicated Remote SQL Enterprise servers (1 for each db opsdb / opsdw)
  • 3 mgmt servers, 4 Gateway servers and an rms emulator / reporting server where the F5 MP is installed.
  • F5’s – 2 LTM’s & 2 GTM’s.

Current issues / problems

  • F5 Monitoring Service Crashes every day
  • F5 Monitor Service memory consumption appears to grow until the service crashes / stops.
  • 30000 F5 monitoring events logged in the F5 Monitoring Log over a 30 min time period.
  • Unable to enable / disable pool members using SCOM F5 Tasks

  • Did you get any resolution to this or going through F5 Device support? I'm running SCOM 2007 r2 with the same/similar issues... especially these two...

  • Issues have not been resolved. I've had tickets open with F5 support since May of 2012. We can duplicate the issues posted above in our Test and Prodcution environment. I posted the following questions to F5 support and their response is also incldued below.

    1. Did F5 reproduce the problem we are experiencing?

F5: We tested the Current F5 Management pack as well as BigIP VMs in the lab, one which was authenticating against Active Directory. Unfortunately, we were unable to see a memory leak.

    2. Which issues will this fix that we experiencing? (We have 3 tickets open)

F5: Log spam: Big3d spam and the pool member not found spam.

    3. Is it possible to receive this update prior to the planned release date to determine if this will resolve any of our issues?

    F5: Unfortunately not.

    4. When you indicate a planned release scheduled for the end of this month does this mean by end of March or end of April?

    F5: March
